In this article I’m going to talk about Mondays and why people hate Mondays. Ideally, everybody should love the first day of the week because if you don’t, you might want to seriously consider changing a few things in your life.
Recently my girlfriend told me that I’m the only guy she knows who loves Mondays. That was a really surprising and an unfortunate thing to hear. That is because I don’t believe that’s the case. My reply to her was that all entrepreneurs love Mondays. I, for one, truly believe that wholeheartedly.
In my opinion, if you are an entrepreneur and you are doing what you love doing on a daily basis, which I hope is the case, then there is absolutely no reason why you should hate Mondays. Mondays are the beginning of your week and you are supposed to be at your best, in terms of productivity and willpower. However, if you are building a business that you hate and working for something that you are not passionate about, then maybe there is a possibility of you hating Mondays. In that situation, Mondays are the beginning of an exhausting week where you have to work really hard on things that you completely despise doing. If that is the case with you, then I’m sorry to say that I feel pitiful for you.
Suppose you’re an entrepreneur and you sell stuff that you love. Then I’m sure you have passion in your life. I’m sure you create stuff that you love and are passionate about on a daily basis. You know that whatever you are working on, whatever you are building, this has a huge and positive impact on other people’s lives. If that’s the way you feel about your job, then there should be no reason at all for you to hate Mondays. In fact, you should be looking forward to the start of a new week where you can do the work you love and feel great doing it.
So Why Do I Hate Mondays?
I’ll get to it in just a second
But first, a lot of entrepreneurs that I am acquainted with, love Mondays and that includes myself as well. Personally, I love Mondays. Monday is my favourite day of the week. It’s the day when I’m the most productive. It’s the day when I get the most stuff done. And it’s the day when I am the most passionate about stuff. You could say that it’s like I’m kick-starting my week. A lot of successful people I know, would tell you that they feel the exact same thing.
So, if you are someone who hates Mondays, it is because of one simple reason which doesn’t take a genius to figure out. It’s because you hate your job. That’s it. You hate what you are doing every single day. If you are working in a job, say a nine to five job and you hate Mondays, the problem isn’t the fact that it’s a Monday. The problem is that you hate your job. You hate the entire week when you have to work and Mondays are the beginning of that week. In other words, Mondays are the beginning of the hate part of your week and hence, you detest them with all your heart. If you hate your week, I’m sure that you love your weekends. The reason is simple. You get to be away from the job you hate on a weekend and therefore you love them.
How To Love Every Single Week Day (Do What You Love!)
As an entrepreneur and as a person who loves what he does every single day, I would say that the situation is very different for me. If you are a person who is passionate about your job, you would love every day of the week. There is no reason why you shouldn’t. You love every day of the week and you love your Mondays even more because that’s the beginning of a productive week, where you get to work on something that you love doing. This is because you know you can kick-start that week, you can fuel your passion and be positive that it will bleed into the rest of the week. The other days of the week will be just as productive if you start your week with passion and energy.
So I have a challenge for you. I say that if you are someone who hates Mondays, you should challenge that thought, without fail. I would advise you to be realistic. Do not lie to yourself. Do not convince yourself that Mondays are terrible. In fact, there is absolutely nothing that is wrong with Mondays. There is just a whole lot of things wrong with the job that you are currently doing every day. Do not blame it on Mondays. Mondays have nothing to do with you being miserable. The real culprit is your own life and you must change that.
